Automotive design

This device is an accessory for the home and a toy at the same time. The simple shape, based on automotive design and the bright colors underline the playful character, while the functional rollers and clearly laid out areas for placing items, high light the use as a home utensil.  Pick up is made of high-quality material. 

Driving scattered toys

The basic construction consists of laminated plywood, while the seat and backrest are made of nonflammable cold foam, all covered in colorful fabric in various shades. It offers a choice of uses as a roller tray for coffee parties, a toy vehicle for little ones, or a decorative accessory with storage function. However, it can be particularly useful for tidying up children's rooms, as driving scattered toys to the closet can be a lot of fun.

There is also room for children in Normann Copenhagen’s new furniture series, New Danish Modern. Play is a series of quality children's furniture designed by Jesper K. Thomsen reinterpreting the classic soapbox cart. The series has a different and humoristic approach to furniture, including a table, bench, chair, board and soapbox cart. The Play Soapbox Cart has arisen from the idea of play and building a child's imagination. 

Designing furniture for children

The expression is random and home-made, with oblique lines, compound angles and such humorous details as green projections contrasting with the clear yellow color.  Jesper K. Thomsen explains: “Children's furniture must be for children, rather than small copies of adult furniture. The soapbox cart is an icon of play and creativity, making it a natural source of inspiration for me when designing furniture for children.
